"Cinnabar" Abstract. 24LX36H. Original paper mosaic on framed edge canvas. This piece is embellished with Swarovski crystal elements and Czech glass in mainly reds, golds, orange, black, clear, and blue. The edges are finished, so framing under glass is a suggested option to protect the work, rather than an immediate necessity.
About Cinnabar: Mineral containing the element Mercury. Color ranges from bright reds to shades of brick, and is occasionally metallic. It is generally translucent. Cinnabar is considered a powerful element in Chakra: It is sometimes called “the merchant’s stone,” and is used to aid the acquisition of wealth and success, enhanced inner vision and thinking, creativity, healing, and getting back on one’s feet. It is said to help promote effective expression and conquer one’s fears. Cinnabar is associated with the zodiac sign Leo, and also the God Mercury, who was known for his speed, skill, and ability to guide others.
